About Me

I am casual, but passionate about entreperneurship

I’ve started a lot of businesses, a few were not that successful, we call them “jobs”. If your business depends upon you being there or what you do, then it really isn’t a business, it is your job! But what is really awesome is growing, developing, and then scaling a business that can run without you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Even in the academic world we have different interpretations and definitions of entrepreneur or entrepreneurship. Dr. Greg Watson defines the entrepreneur as the creation of value for others. This act, or this entrepreneurial mindset, does not need a business, it can be implemented in your home (we used to describe an individual as "industrious" - someone who created value), in your community as you bring value to your social network, your neighborhood, your non-profit, or your social network. More often we think of entrepreneurship as commercial where we exchange value - creating a win-win exchange where the entrepreneur exchanges something they produce for payment - solving a problem or meeting a need for a customer greater than the price the customer pays.

Yes - anyone can become an entrepreneur. Everyone has a skill or a talent that can be utilized to create value or a solution for others. Thus the opportunity is there; not everyone will execute or achieve the same level of success.  Entrepreneurship requires grit, determination, but there are no prerequisites - entrepreneurs come from all segments of society.

19% of US adults between the age of 18-64 are currently starting or running a new business according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. That is almost 1 in 5 adults.
